The fantastic batteryless Freeplay Eyemax solar powered radio - not only does it look good, sounds great, a quality build, it is a free energy product.
You can hand-crank it but the solar panels work so well that you hardly ever have to. Unless you live in England of course.
Want to know more then read and look at this
product review of the Eyemax Radio
(Wind Up and Solar Powered). Includes lots of photographs.
The
Gelert 3LED/1 Function Windup Torch is reviewed
and compared to other mechanically powered torches/lamps/lanterns.

There is also a review and comparison of the
Silverpoint Hiker LED Wind-up Camping Lantern

Lilac/Black Gelert Wind Up (rechargeable) Torch
lilac version of the self powered Gelert Torch
This great Wind-up torch (batteryless) does not just look and sound good but is good for the environment and your pocket. No more batteries!
You can read a
product review of the Gelert torch
, a
comparison of this Gelert rechargeable torch
with other hand powered torches, lanterns or lamps
Look at more
photographs of the Gelert mechanically powered torch
showing its size compared to AA batteries.
The
Gelert Wind-Up torch can be bought
at a very cheap price considering the quality of the product that you get and the fact that you will not have to buy any more batteries.

Silverpoints rechargeable Hiker mini lantern
A great Wind Up mini lantern with superb brightness for its size. Not the cheapest but you are paying for a quality product and what you put in you will get out from this little beauty.
for a personal product review of the Silverpoint sl7010 Wind Up Hiker mini Lantern (Lamp). You can also compare its size to other wind-up torches, lanterns and lamps in the
product comparison page
or by looking at the
photo album of the Silverpoint Hiker
against double AA batteries.
You can
buy the Silverpoint Hiker
, its not the cheapest wind up torch / mini lamp on offer but you get a great mini lantern for the price. You also have to take into account how much you are saving on batteries.

Wind Up Dynamo Camping 12 Ultrabrigt 12 LED Lantern
Its large, its cheapish, it can be very bright but just like Maggie Thatchers football team against Norway its taken one hell of a beating in the public reviews. Is it really that bad or were peoples expectations to high, after all with wind-up lamps you only get out what you put in.
You can read the personal
product review of the Wind Up Dynamo Lantern
, this large
lantern can also be compared against
smaller rechargeable mini lanterns and torches. You can also view its size in a
photograph album of this Wind Up camping lantern
.
The Wind Up Dynamo Camping Lantern with adjustable brightness settings is on offer for you to buy in
America (USA)
or
UK (Europe)
but is it
cheap and cheerful
or
cheap and tearful
? Read the product review to find out.
