Article, DIScussion and photographs taken at Beeston Bump beach -  massive flint circles, paramoudras (giant flint concretions / pot stones) and flint backbones

These amazing and puzzling massive flint formations are found at low tides on the beach below Beeston Bump (Beeston Regis beach), Norfolk. Paramoudras are also known as Pot Stones in Norfolk.

Some flint circles seem to be associated with giant flint backbones (giant paramoudra flint long burrows), also found on the Beeston Bump (Beeston Hill) beach.

No one knows how flint is formed. It is a mystery. The best guess is that the limestone or chalk material becomes gelatinous and then fills the shapes left by creatures.

This idea sounds good but it does not survive when you look at what you get. How does it form the giant flint circles? How does it form the flint vertebral? How does the different host material of chalk and limestone become the same jelly material and then form the same shapes.

The fact that you can find large flint circles attached to flint stone paramoudras burrows (backbones) seems to suggest tht they are related.

The mystery - How was flint, let alone all the shapes, formed?

Flint is everywhere yet no one knows how it is formed.  On the diagenesis (transformation/creation) of flint Geology is stuck.

Flint comes in nodules of all sizes, colours, shapes, layers, circles, backbones, areas, found in chalk, sand. Molten sand or chalk filling out shapes is highly unlikely, how would that create the layers? How would the area have multiple layers? Layers are meant to be deposits.

How was flint formed? All ideas have to be considered as long as they have some evidence or logic path.

Material is transformed when it energy and forces are applied to it. It is just an opinion of how or what forces where involved. If a process can provide all of the things needed then it could be the answer.

The flint paramoudra columns (flint stone backbones) do resemble some form of fulgurite or a backbone. They also could be be a variation of an Electric Treeing event (electric discharge).

electrofocusing

Telluric Currents flow through the earth and the sea. They are natural electrical currents. They can be 1000s of miles long. These were acutally used to power the old Telegraph systems in America and England, using Earth Batteries.
Electrical Treeing is an electric current discharge that either occurs over a long time or very quickly.

Electrofocusing is a process where proteins (material) is seperated into layers. The particles are at different charge levels and are in a gel(liquid). An electrical current flows between an Anode and Cathode and will "Migrate and Focus at their Isoelectric Point (pI), or Point of Zero Net Charge". Creating layers.

Sedimentary layers are very defined. How are they so sharply divided? One of the puzzling things about sedimentary layers are that the conditions would have had to remain stable for 1000s or maybe even millions of years. Yet this is in oceans and rivers. You also do not seem to get any contamination in the layers. They are mostly pure, made of the same material. Things that do cross the layers are stones or paramoudras or fossilised trees. Also, why do you get the same material in multiple layers? The odds of that particular part of the ocean having exactly the same conditions a number of times over millions of years are small.

Where sedimentary layers formed in the sea by the flow of electrically current through loose material? Can this explain how the mutliple flint layers of Grimes Graves, Norfolk where formed?

Follow through...

One of the main mantras of the Electric Universe is that everything is scalable. Hurricanes look like spiral galaxies because the same force is in action, just on a different scale and locotion. If the EU created the geology of the world this would help to explain why the same things (mountains, gemstones, rolling hills...) are found around the world.

And is this a Maltese version of a partially hollow Pot Stone? A non flint version found near a very interesting rock line that looks like an Electric Tree(ing) -  (Sophie)?

If the same force acts on an area then you will get a similar result. The host material and location will produce variations but the result remains similar.
