Il-Maqluba (the upturned) crater material formed an island?


Il-Maqluba (upside down), natural depression/hole/doline or Electric Universe crater?

Maqluba translated into Maltese and Arabic means the upturned, upside down, and Il-Maqluba is one of the strangest geology sites/sights you will see on the fascinating island of Malta. In theory Malta should be geological boring but has an amazing range of scenerary but perhaps Il-Maqluba not only is top of the puzzles but the legends surrounding it are also top of the puzzling list.


Il-Maqluba looks like a crater. in fact if you were not told or read any geology stuff you would say its a crater. geology is puzzled by it but says it is a doline, a sinkhole, a natural depression. the problem is why is the largest doline in Malta the only one with no debris at the bottom? similar to the rilles on Mars and Moon that are "collapsed lava tubes" yet have no collapse material and in fact are the cleanest areas on those bodies.

Il-Maqluba has many legends about it. Which are true? What is based on fact? Why would the Maltese lie about something like this? What did happen?

Looking at it with Electric Universe EYEs it would appear to be an EDM crater. it has the same shape as other sharp crater lakes/meres around the world and perhaps "sky lights" on Mars and the Moon. It has a short tail. Opposite the tail is also a secondary smaller flatter crater as a "rim shot crater". This is hard to see from satellite images but i will eventually post some photographs that show this rim shot crater. As you would hope and expect to see with an EU crater.

Also the story fo the creation of Filfla from Il-Maqluba fits in with EUology. There are similar stories from around the world. Did they all make them up, were they all liars or are they based on some Electric Universe event?
